Do Rab jackets run big?
I’ve had many Rab down jackets & for belay purposes, I’d definitely size up to the large. I find Rab does run a bit smaller/slimmer than other brands. Climbing friend! If you are eating the American meal of supersized most fattening then please order the large jacket and do not complain of European “slim” sizing.

Can you wear rab down jacket in rain?
While this coat is spectacularly water-resistant for a down jacket, you should note, this coat will not replace a true rain layer. If you anticipate staying out in the rain for prolonged periods of time, you’ll need to bring a hardshell in addition to this layer.
What Colour is Beluga RAB?
I own the vest in the beluga color and I love it. It’s very warm and I often pair it with a light Arcteryx jacket. The color is a darker grey. Looks great and works well on the trail as it packs down very small.

Some Rab stuff is indeed exceptional, other Rab stuff is distinctly average. Same goes for any brands! Only the very best should get into “Exceptional”, I’d have Paramo, Berhaus, Rab, TNF. Mountain Equipment as mainstream brands of good quality with some exceptional products, perhaps at the top of mid range.

Would the Rab jacket have worked for me?
I wish the Rab jacket had worked, because unlike the Arcteryx jacket, the Rab has treated hydrophobic down that can withstand getting wet to an extent. The fit might work for some people. It is narrower at the shoulders, but wider in the waist body than the Arcteryx fit.
How does the microlight alpine jacket fit?
The Microlight Alpine is considered a slim fit. It was large enough around the torso that we felt no constriction whatsoever, which is more than we can say about some other trim fitting jackets in the lineup. The coat has a loose enough fit that wearing a layer underneath is no problem.
